IDOT Economic Development Program
The purpose of the EDP grant is to provide state assistance for roadway improvements or new construction that are necessary for access to new or expanding industrial, manufacturing or distribution type companies.

IDOT Transportation Enhancement Program
The goal of ITEP is to allocate resources to well-planned projects that provide and support alternate modes of transportation, enhance the transportation system through preservation of visual and cultural resources and improve the quality of life for members of the communities.

IDOT Statewide Planning and Research
Statewide Planning & Research (SPR) funds are used to establish a cooperative, continuous, and comprehensive framework for making transportation investment decisions and to carryout transportation planning and research activities throughout the State.

Highway Safety Improvement Program
HSIP is a core federal program intended to produce a measurable and significant reduction in fatalities and serious injuries resulting from traffic related crashes on all public roads.

 

IDNR Bike Path Program
The Illinois Bicycle Path Grant provides financial assistance to eligible units of governments to acquire, construct, and rehabilitate public, non-motorized bicycle paths and directly related support facilities.

Federal Recreational Trails Program (RTP)
Provides funding for trail construction and rehabilitation, restoration of areas adjacent to trails damaged by unauthorized trail uses, construction of trail-related support facilities and amenities.

 
 
 

FTA Accelerating Innovative Mobility (AIM)
AIM challenge grants will help transit agencies explore new service models that provide more efficient and frequent service, which will help retain riders.

Grants for Buses and Bus Facilities Program
Funding to replace, rehabilitate, and purchase buses and related equipment and to construct bus-related facilities including technological changes or innovations to modify low or no emission vehicles or facilities.

HOPE Program
Funding to improve transit services in areas experiencing long-term economic distress and improving transit services such as rides to opioid abuse recovery and treatment.

Integrated Mobility Innovation
Funding projects that demonstrate innovative and effective practices, partnerships and technologies to enhance public transportation effectiveness, increase efficiency, expand quality, promote safety and improve the traveler experience.

Low-No Vehicle Program
Provides funding to state and local governmental authorities for the purchase or lease of zero-emission and low-emission transit buses as well as acquisition, construction, and leasing of required supporting facilities.

Pilot Program for Transit-Oriented Development Planning
Provides funding to local communities to integrate land use and transportation planning with a new fixed guideway or core capacity transit capital investment.

Mobility for All Pilot Program Grants
Funding to enhance mobility and access to vital community services for older adults, individuals with disabilities, and people of low income.

Bus Operator Compartment Program
Supports the redesign of transit bus operator compartments to improve safety for bus operators and the passengers they serve.

Safety Research and Demonstration Program
Provides technical and financial support for transit agencies to pursue innovative approaches to eliminate or mitigate safety hazards.

 
 
 

BUILD Transportation Grants Program
Funds for planning and capital investments in surface transportation infrastructure, supporting roads, bridges, transit, rail, ports, or intermodal transportation. 

Infrastructure For Rebuilding America Grant Program
The purpose of INFRA is to help rebuild aging infrastructure across the nation.

 
 

2020 Rebuild Illinois: Competitive Public Infrastructure
Provides assistance to local governments for completion of vital public infrastructure projects that will increase economic development opportunities and improve the quality of life in the areas improved.

Community Development Block Grant
The CDBG Program assists Illinois communities that do not receive a HUD direct entitlement allocation with meeting their greatest economic and community development needs.

Distressed Cities Technical Assistance
A program designed to improve fiscal health and build administrative capacity of relatively small units of general local government that are economically distressed and have been recently impacted by a natural disaster.

 
 

Community Foundation: Grant Programs
