The Regional Complete Count Committee is a team of leaders from Local Complete Count Committees who have come together to coordinate outreach efforts and promote a complete and accurate count for the 2020 Decennial Census in Boone, Stephenson, and Winnebago Counties.

Current participating members include Blackhawk Hills Regional Council, Boone, DeKalb, Ogle, Stephenson, and Winnebago Counties, Cities of Belvidere, DeKalb, Freeport, Rochelle, and Rockford, Greater Freeport Partnership, League of Women Voters of Greater Rockford, Northern Illinois University.

Purpose

The Regional Complete Count Committee (RCCC) is dedicated to increasing awareness about the Census and motivating residents to respond. By streamlining ideas, implementing events, and combating misinformation, the RCCC looks to maximize Census participation and prevent an undercount within our region.

All residents in our region benefit from an accurate and complete Census count because it determines representation in congress and access to federal funding that supports local services and programs. Every person not counted amounts to $1,535* (GWU Brief #1) of federal funding that does not come back to our community. The per capita figure allows cross-state comparisons of fiscal reliance on census-guided programs. Be counted to maintain our representation and our future!
